Welcome to Thinkradical!

summer is sooo close

Taking a late spring break vacation definitely whetted my appetite for summer. With only two more weeks left of the semester I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. (San Francisco’s heat wave has also contributed to my spring fever reaching epic proportions.)

Here’s my optimistic list of top 5 things I am looking forward to doing once I finish the semester…

1. Finding my friends. I no longer feel guilty for not calling people back because they have all pretty much stopped calling. Grad school does certainly put a damper on one’s social life. I can’t wait to see my friends again.

2. Sitting at the park. Thankfully Leah’s birthday over the weekend gave me an excuse to enjoy the heat wave with all the other revelers at Dolores Park on Saturday. Last summer post-surgery I had a goal of seeing how many days in a row I could make it to the park. Not sure how feasible the everyday plan is while working full-time, but I definitely intend on going every weekend.

3. Waking up to the farmer’s market. There’s no better way to eat breakfast on Saturday than wandering through the market stalls, sampling the local yums.

4. Reading for pleasure. Back in undergrad I used to kick off the end of the semester by losing myself in the latest Harry Potter book. There was nothing more satisfying than reading something totally immersive that had absolutely nothing to do with school. Not sure what my first book will be, but I can’t wait to bring back my Sunday New York Times ritual and any other reading I can work in.

5. Exercise. Honestly, I was in the best shape of my life pre-grad school. I am looking forward to moving my body again.

Oh… and there is one more thing I am looking forward to…

Glee.

Musicals. Jane Lynch. Teenage High-school melodrama.
Please, oh please, don’t disappoint.
