I just got my summer DMBA reading/watching/sketching list from Nathan. For years I’ve been taking about getting folks together to watch and discuss films… now it looks like it might just happen with my future classmates. We will join an online community sometime this week and hopefully begin to get to know each other online, and maybe even meet in person, before school starts in the fall.

Being the obsessed library nerd that I am, I already requested the first film and the first two books on the list. Out of the twelve books recommended only one is sitting on my shelf already, though a few have been on my “must read” list for years. I feel far more prepared on the film front, out of the dozen I’ve seen 4, but all but one were on my list to view at some point. It is exciting to have an excuse to focus on these documentaries and non-fiction titles. And even better that I will have other people to talk about them with.
