“like a jolt of Red Bull”
it’s been years since i used to sneak home from high school to catch the rosie show. but thanks to the collective power of barbara walters and tivo i get to watch rosie’s return to daytime. maybe you haven’t been watching… so let me recap, here’s five reasons to heart rosie and watch the view:1. this isn’t the only barbara/rosie self-portrait http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosie/193677425/in/photostream/.2. rosie’s a blogger and flickr member.3. she seriously brings the gay to daytime. sorry ellen, but your subtle “tie-wearing la lesbian” has nothing on rosie’s “super lesbian mom” constantly discussing kelly, kids, queer parenting cruises and musical theater. ellen’s the cool, updated lesbian chic “i know you all know” daytime host. while rosie has cornered the brass “i’m not going to let you forget” category.4. she makes that crazy conservative elizabeth squirm. and that gives me great pleasure.5. she’d not afraid to tell it like it is (ie her recent commentary about oprah and gayle being “a little bit gay”)truly the only painful part about watching the new view is seeing the other co-hosts (and rotating woman of color) try to get a word in edge wise. no doubt the broadway-loving diva understands that it’s never easy to go back into the chorus after being a star.in other daytime news… watching ellen answer audience members cell phones is pretty damn entertaining. sometimes i have low standards. (you can’t always be self-righteous and above the mainstream.)
